ACTIVITIES
The laboratory, which is a constituent part of the Centre for Micro and Nano Sciences and Technologies (CMNZT), is set up with resources furnished by EU Structural Funds and is, as such, equipped to perform precise measurements utilizing optical techniques. It specializes in interferometry and optical resonators. The staff is currently involved in two major international projects: g-2 (Fermilab), where the goal is to measure with high precision the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, and CAST (CERN), which tracks the Sun for the purpose of detecting experimentally undiscovered particles.
